Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez (/tas/ /ˈgro̠to̠l/ [medium] [loaf]) is a subtropical Town located in the Fio̠dyokōn Moot of the Viceroyalty of Rosid.

The name Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez is derived from the Wood Elvish language, as Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez was founded by Zèdsmêv Dhiaginra, who was culturaly Wood Elven.

Climate

Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez has a yearly average temperature of 16°C (60°F), with its average temperature during the summer being a warm 26°C (78°F) and its average temperature during the winter being a cold 6°C (42°F). Overview

Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez was founded durring the late 14th century in spring of the year 1284, by Zèdsmêv Dhiaginra. The establishment of the new community went well, though many minor issues had to be solved as time went on. This was enough to delay construction and push back the formal opening ceramony, leading to some embarisment for Zèdsmêv Dhiaginra.

Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez was built using the conventions of Wood Elven durring the late 14th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature waddle and daub construction with good timber frames and a stone foundation protected by thatched or shingled rooves. Most buildings with second floors are built in such a way as to overhang into the streets on the upper floors for more space, as building size seems to be the primary indicator of wealth within the community. Most buildings are not decorated with any integral features, but instead use ivy, flowers, and other natural elements in planters of on trellices to breathe life into the structure they grow upon.

Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez is buildings are arranged arround a network of restrictive split-log ties streets which form a grid, where each square verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller square has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town rests behind a thick wall made from clay bricks. The wall has all of the proper fortifications and is well made. Unfortuantly the nature of clay brick leaves it quite vulnerable to siege equipment, though the thickness of the wall lends it simmilar resistnace to a thinner hardrock wall. The town's millitarily questionable fortifications have recently undergone extensive repairs and renovations, such that the repairwork is imeadiently apparent and can be spotted due to the diffring ages of materials. One can't help but wonder what brought the need for those repairs to the town.

Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez has a very calm atmosphere. People can be seen relaxing, scocilizing, and going about all manner of business other than the daily grind. Men, women, children, all can be seen enjoying life in a laid-back way in the many parks which line Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez’s streets.

Civic Infrastructure

Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez has an Office of Civil Groundskeeping, which works to enforce local ordinances relating to the construction and upkeep up of all plant life, water features, and other natural decorations within Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez. Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. In spite of the Galvanic Grid, these lights continue to use their old fule sources to provide nighttime illumination to all city streets.

Cultural Notes

Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez's bank was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is known for its buildings being predominantly formed through the combination of basic geometric shapes. However, it shown in the detailing given to the structures such as its characteristic tall columns, intricate detail, symmetry, harmony, and balance in their designs to an astonishing degree of precision. Decorative elements for the buildings tended to be built into the structure itself, making great use of fluting, frescoes, inlays, and embossing.

In time immemorial, reportedly some time during the early 2nd century, Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez was attacked by soldiers from another nation, with orders to raid Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez. The details of the conflict are hazy at best due to many conflicting accounts. What is known is Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez lost 294 people, 395 livestock, and 85 buildings. The conflict ended after roughly 165, when members of Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez's militia enacted an operation to destroy or capture a particular ruin. The operation was complicated by a natural disaster interrupted the operation, shattering unit cohesion. The conflict ended with pitched battle between both forces, which ended in victory for Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez's forces. The war is remembered in legend by Tas Gro̠to̠l Kez's bards, historians, and legend keepers.
